Pinewood Derby 2011

Pinewood Derby 2011

Henry got the award for "Best Use of Materials." He had a GREAT looking car. He and Eric worked really hard on it, painting and sanding, painting and sanding... This year at the Pinewood Derby, they invited the dads to participate as well. Eric LOVED that.

Eric loves building and creating Pinewood Derby cars. He is really good at it! Everyone joked that Eric's looked like a hearse. He cut out the cars while working at the temple. They have a shop full of all kinds of fun tools! Although, they weren't the fastest, they were definitely the coolest.

After the tournament the boys and siblings made potato cars. They got pieces of flat wood with wheels, attached a potato decorated with carrots and toothpicks, and then raced them on the track. Pretty funny! Jack had a great time with his. He put a bunch of carrot sticks on the back and it looked like flames.

I have to admit that during the first couple rounds,I was out in the van listening to the BYU vs. Florida "Sweet Sixteen" game... It was the final minutes of play. Wish it was worth it :(

Here my boys are getting ready to race, ok, here they are posing for mom for a picture for the blog!! Henry turns 11 in a few weeks. Next month will be his last Cub Scout Pack Meeting. He will be receiving his Arrow of Light and will be advancing to Boy Scout!! That same Pack Meeting, Jack will be welcomed in to Cub Scouts as a Wolf. Fun Stuff.
