Happy 6th Birthday Elsie Girl!!
On Saturday, June 18th, we had a birthday party for Elsie and her friends. She was so excited to have her friends come over and celebrate with her. There is something about little girls and birthday parties! Here she is in front of our game, "pin the ladybug on the flower."
We had a lot of fun planning. Got the lady bug plate and napkin idea from a great friend. Thank you Erin!! Aren't they cute!?
We decorated the walls and sliding glass door with grass, ladybugs, and flowers. When the girls got here we painted terra cotta pots and then glittered them up. Then we planted some pink petunias. They turned out very cute. A couple of girls came all dressed up for the garden party... our idea of a garden party is painting and dirt!
Elsie's cute friends. Elsie wanted to have fruit for her garden party. It was a hit. We also did crackers and cheese. I bought a dragon fly cupcake cake to top it all off. Elsie has such GREAT friends! We had a lot of fun.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Yeah! Grandma & Grandpa Holmtead got her a new dress! She has outgrown her others. Grandma & Grandpa Dahl sent her $20. She feels like a rich girl. Hooray for grandparents!
Mom and dad got her a magnetic dress up doll thing, socks!, and a cool water sprinkler to play with this summer. The boys got her a bead set, sand art kit, a baton, and a "Hair-Do Harriet." As tradition, Eric and I took her out to lunch. She choose McDonalds. Great to have one on one time with her. She is a fun girl.
For dinner she requested.... spaghetti, corn, and lemonade. She picked out this birthday cake at the store. I can't believe my girl is 6! So, here are a few of my favorite things about my Elsie:
Elsie is the most willing to help me with anything!
She is a mini-me. My dad says I have met my match.
She is fun, energetic, and optomistic
She LOVES to talk and talk and talk and talk.....
Elsie is smart and very creative. She is quick.
Despite having 3 older brothers-she RULES!
Everyday she gives me a hug and says, "I love you Mom!"
